The cultivation methods and precautions of bougainvillea

Bougainvillea is one of the most common ornamental flowers in the southern region. It blooms all year round with bright and attractive colors. It is suitable for being made into potted plants and placed at home. But how should Bougainvillea be cultivated? What should be paid attention to during its cultivation?

The cultivation methods and precautions of bougainvillea

1. Soil and temperature for growing bougainvillea

When growing bougainvillea, you only need to prepare potting soil with good drainage and high mineral content. Slightly acidic soil will be more conducive to the growth of bougainvillea. Bougainvillea is a plant that likes warmth. When the outside temperature is between 15 and 30 degrees, it grows fastest. However, when the temperature is too high in summer, it should be cooled and ventilated in time, otherwise the leaves of bougainvillea will turn yellow and die.

2. Bougainvillea's need for water

Bougainvillea also has certain requirements for water during the cultivation process. In spring and autumn, it should be watered every two days. After entering summer, it can be watered twice a day, preferably once in the morning and once in the evening. At the same time, water should be sprayed on the leaves. Bougainvillea's growth will slow down after entering winter, and the water supply should also be reduced at this time, which can be reduced to once a week.

3. Bougainvillea's requirements for fertilizer and light

In addition to applying sufficient base fertilizer during the cultivation process, bougainvillea should also be top-dressed in time during its growth season. Potassium dihydrogen phosphate can be applied, or an appropriate amount of cake fertilizer can be applied. Bougainvillea is a light-loving plant, but when it is in the seedling stage, it should be placed in a semi-shaded environment. It can be placed in the sun in other seasons, but necessary shading should be carried out in summer.
