How to store peaches How to keep peaches fresh

Peaches are tender, smooth and juicy fruits. They are not only delicious but also provide rich nutrition for the human body. However, it is a big problem to preserve peaches after picking them. If they are not properly preserved, they will quickly go bad. So how should fresh peaches be preserved? How can they stay fresh?

How to store peaches

1. Fresh peaches are best stored in the refrigerator after picking. If it is a small amount of fresh peaches, you can store it directly in the refrigerator at home. If you want to store a large number of peaches and want to keep it for a long time and keep it fresh, you need to store it in a cold storage.

2. Cold storage can strictly control temperature and humidity, keeping the temperature between 0 and 5 degrees, and the relative humidity can reach 90%. Peaches stored in such an environment will not rot, and the water and sugar components will not be lost. Peaches can be stored in such an environment for 3 to 5 months.

How to Keep Peaches Fresh

1. If you want to keep peaches fresh, you can use the controlled atmosphere method to preserve them. The so-called controlled atmosphere is to adjust the concentration of oxygen and carbon dioxide in the air. It is best to keep it in a zero-degree environment and the relative humidity is 90%. The carbon dioxide content in the air should be more than 5%, and the oxygen content should be reduced by 1%. This can keep the peaches from deteriorating for 4 to 5 months, and the peaches preserved in this way are fresh and taste good.

2. Peaches soaked in chemical preservatives can also stay fresh. During the storage process, peaches often rot due to brown rot. Before the peaches are stored, they are soaked in 0.1% benomyl solution, which will inactivate the brown rot fungi on the surface of the peaches. During the storage process, the peaches will not rot. Although peaches soaked in chemical drugs can stay fresh and can be stored for a long time, the chemical substances are slightly harmful to the human body and must be carefully washed before eating.
