Cultivation and reproduction methods of purple flowers

Amaryllis is a plant of the Amaryllis family. It is a perennial herb that blooms mostly in summer. It can purify the air, beautify the environment, and can be used as medicine. It can usually be cultivated at home, but it is not easy to cultivate Amaryllis well. You need to have a comprehensive understanding of its cultivation methods.

1. Reproduction method

When cultivating purple lilies, you must have a comprehensive understanding of its reproduction methods. This plant has many different cultivation methods, such as scale reproduction, bulb reproduction, bulbil reproduction, and sowing reproduction, but in life, bulbil reproduction is the most commonly used. You can choose to take the small bulbils grown in the armpits of purple lilies. When the bulbils do not fall off after the flowers wither, you can directly take them out and plant them.

2. Soil

The choice of soil is also very important when growing purple lilies. It is best to mix leaf mold, sandy soil, garden soil and other materials in a one-to-one ratio, and apply enough well-rotted compost or bone meal at the bottom of the flowerpot. This will allow the purple lily to absorb rich nutrients after planting.

3. Fertilization

There are many requirements for fertilizing the purple lily during its cultivation. When it is in its peak growth season, diluted liquid fertilizer should be applied two or three times to promote its plant growth. Before entering the flowering period, phosphorus fertilizer and potassium fertilizer should be applied one or two times. This can encourage the plant to produce more flower buds, make the flowering period longer, and the flowers larger.

4. Watering

There are certain techniques for watering the purple lily during its cultivation. Usually, you should keep the soil in the pot moist, and increase the watering frequency in time when it enters the peak growing season or the hot summer, and spray water on the leaves and around the pot to increase the air temperature. However, the soil in the pot cannot be too wet, otherwise its bulb will rot and cause root rot, and sometimes its leaves will turn yellow or fall off directly.
