Cultivation methods and precautions of lilac

Many people have seen the beautiful lilac and like it very much. Some people want to plant it in pots at home, but they don’t know how to grow it. Today I will give a detailed introduction to the cultivation method of lilac. While telling you how to grow lilac, I will also share with you the precautions for growing lilac.

Cultivation methods and precautions of lilac

1. How to grow lilac

Lilac likes sunlight, has poor shade tolerance, prefers a humid environment, and avoids waterlogging. It can be planted in fertile and well-drained potting soil. In addition, lilac needs to be repotted once a year, and sufficient base fertilizer should be applied when repotting. The base fertilizer can be decomposed and composted. Lilac is mainly propagated by seeds. If you plant new lilac, you can collect the seeds after the flowers wither in autumn and save them for planting in the spring of the following year.

2. Pay attention to the temperature when growing lilac

When growing lilacs, temperature is the most important aspect to pay attention to, because lilac is a tropical plant. It prefers tropical island climate. When the outside temperature is between 20 and 30 degrees, the plant grows fastest. When the outside temperature is below three degrees, it will stop growing, and in severe cases, the lilac will die.

3. Pay attention to fertilizer supply when growing lilac

If you want to grow lilacs well, the supply of fertilizer is also very important. This plant does not like heavy fertilizers, so you should not fertilize it too much, otherwise it will affect flowering and reduce its ornamental value. In addition, aphids or moths may appear in the growth process of lilacs. At this time, you can spray 800 times of dimethoate emulsion to make the pests disappear quickly.
