How to grow succulent plants

Succulent plants are very popular now, but you need to be very careful when planting them, otherwise you may end up planting them in a weird way. The succulent plant Hachiya is such a small and lovely plant. If you plan to plant it, you must know how to grow it .

How to grow succulent plants

Key points of Yachiyo breeding

It is relatively easy to propagate the 8000-year-old plant, and it is easy to survive by cuttings or leaf cuttings during the growing season. If you have already grown a 8000-year-old plant by cuttings, you need to pay attention to the following points during maintenance:

temperature

The suitable temperature for the growth of Hachiyo is 15-25℃, and the temperature in winter is above 3℃. The temperature in summer is too high, so pay attention to ventilation.

illumination

Hachiyo is a light-loving plant. When grown at home, it should be given plenty of sunlight and placed in a well-ventilated place. When the temperature is suitable, it is best to grow it outdoors.

soil

Generally, sandy soil with good drainage and ventilation is selected, which can remove excess water in time when watering. The plant should be repotted once every two years in spring, at which time the roots can be pruned to remove necrotic old roots.

Watering and fertilizing

Water thoroughly during the growing season, once every 10 days, and fertilize once a month with a thin layer of fertilizer.

prune

Prune frequently and cut off the dry old leaves in time to avoid bacterial growth. If the plant grows too tall or too tall, you can trim the top branches and leaves to shape it. The cut parts can be used for cuttings to form new plants.

Preparations before breeding

Before propagating, you should make sure that the Hachimansia is growing well, has no pests or diseases, and has thick leaves. Prepare a glass container that is suitable for the Hachimansia, which should be nice but not too big. If you really can't find one, just prepare a nice ceramic flower pot.

Cutting method

The propagation method of Hachiyo is relatively simple. Just use cuttings, which are divided into branch cuttings and leaf cuttings, and both can be carried out at the same time. Choose a mother plant with good growth, cut off the head as cutting material, and pull out the leaves to prepare for leaf cuttings. Just insert the pulled leaves directly into the soil, which is simple and direct, rough and easy to grow. Put the cut head in a glass container to take root, and don't do anything, just let it grow on its own. It will take about 10 days to take root. Don't worry about the remaining bare pole being too ugly, you don't need to do anything, put it in a bright and ventilated place, and new buds will slowly grow. If you are lucky, 2 to 3 new buds will grow, and one plant will become many plants, and it will become a multi-headed monster!

Maintenance after cutting

Watering

After cutting, water the plants in small amounts until the soil surface is moist. In the following days, keep the soil slightly moist, and do not water the soil or the glass container.

illumination

Just put it in light, but don't expose it to the sun. Put it in a bright, well-ventilated place. In about a week, new roots will grow, and then you can directly enter the normal watering + sunlight phase. Succulent plants themselves have super strong adaptability. You can break off or even cut off the leaves and throw them directly on the ground and they will still grow, so don't worry, just go for it!
