Green kumquat is a kind of fruit kumquat, but its peel is mostly green. This kind of kumquat has a particularly high vitamin C content. It can not only be eaten directly, but also used to soak in water, and can be made into dried green kumquat for long-term storage. However, many people still don’t know how to make dried green kumquat. Today, the editor will specifically introduce this knowledge, so that everyone can easily make fresh green kumquats into dried kumquats.

How to make dried green kumquat

1. To make green kumquats, you need to prepare fresh green kumquats and an appropriate amount of white sugar or rock sugar. Rinse the prepared green kumquats in clean water and dry the surface moisture. Then cut them into 4 halves with a clean fruit knife. Then prepare a clean container, put the cut green kumquats in the container, put a layer of detergent and a layer of white sugar.

2. After putting them away, put the green kumquats in the refrigerator for pickling. They will be pickled after 24 hours. After pickling, take out the green kumquats and put them in a stainless steel pot to heat and cook. After boiling, cook for about 10 minutes until all the green kumquats are soft, then take them out for later use.

3. Preheat the oven and prepare the baking tray. Set the oven temperature to about 100 degrees, then cover the baking tray with tin foil, take out the cooked green kumquats, evenly spread them on the baking tray, and then put the baking tray in the oven and bake slowly. Turn it over frequently during the baking process until all the green kumquats are dried before taking them out. After the green kumquats are baked, take them out and cool them down to make homemade dried green kumquats.

4. When the pickled kumquats are put in the pot to cook, some jam will appear. Don't throw it away. Collect it and seal it in a clean glass bottle. When needed, take out an appropriate amount and drink it directly with water, or spread it on the surface of bread or steamed buns. It tastes especially good when eaten as jam. The dried kumquats taste especially good and can be eaten directly or soaked in water.

5. There is another relatively simple method to make dried green kumquats. When making it, you can wash the fresh green kumquats and cut them into thin slices with a fruit knife, and put them directly in the sun to dry. Spread them out every morning and put them away every evening, and put them indoors to prevent them from being wetted by dew. After repeated drying for about 7 days, the dried kumquats will be ready. However, the dried green kumquats made in this way taste sour and are only suitable for soaking in water. In addition, they need to be soaked in water with an appropriate amount of rock sugar or honey.
