Tuberose blooms many beautiful flowers every year, interpreting the fresh style. Tuberose is very common in cities. People have seen it but may not know its name. Tuberose has a high ornamental value. If you like this small flower, you can try to grow it yourself. The following is an introduction to the cutting propagation method of tuberose . How to propagate tuberose by cuttings⒈Select cuttings. Choose branches that are healthy or free of diseases and insect pests. On the same plant, choose branches from the middle and upper parts of the current year that face the sun. The branches should have short internodes, thick leaves, and full bud tips. Do not choose branches that are about to bloom or branches that are too long. ⒉ Select the matrix. Peat soil, leaf mold and sand are mixed in a ratio of 3:3:4 respectively. The bed soil prepared in this way has the characteristics of increasing bed temperature, retaining water, ventilation, fertility, and being slightly acidic, which is suitable for branch rooting and sprouting. ⒊ Process the cuttings. Before cutting, use ABT rooting powder and other agents to treat the cuttings to promote rooting. Cut the cuttings into 8 cm to 12 cm sections with 2 to 3 buds on them. The incision at the bottom of the cuttings should be 0.5 cm below the node. The incision should be smooth. Cut off the lower leaves, leaving only the top 2 to 3 leaves. The insertion depth is generally about 3 cm. ⒋Conditions for creating roots. The suitable rooting temperature is 20℃ to 24℃. Generally, soil temperature 3℃ to 5℃ higher than air temperature is beneficial to rooting. The relative humidity of the air in the cutting bed is 80% to 90%, which is conducive to rooting, and the light intensity is required to be around 30%. The water content should be appropriate, with a little more water in the early stage of cutting and a little dry in the later stage. The suitable period for local open-field cutting is from early May to mid-June, when the climate is good and the temperature and humidity conditions required for rooting of cuttings can be better met. ⒌ Strengthen post-insertion management. After cutting, water thoroughly, cover with plastic film, place in a relatively shaded place, or sprinkle weeds on the film to prevent direct sunlight, and increase light at night to help the cuttings survive. Ventilate 1 to 2 times a day to replenish the required oxygen and prevent diseases. Spray water frequently to keep the cutting bed moderately moist, but do not spray too much water, otherwise the cutting bed is too wet, which often affects the healing and rooting of the cuttings. When the new roots of the cuttings grow to 2 cm to 3 cm, they can be transplanted to pots in time. After flowering, they should be moved indoors for maintenance in Nanjing in winter. |
