Preparation of Candied Yam

200 grams of yam, one egg, 10 grams of flour, 50 grams of starch, appropriate amount of cooking oil, and 100 grams of white sugar.

The specific method of making candied yam

1. Remove the skin of the yam, cut it into dice with a knife, soak it in clean water for a while, take it out and drain the water, then put it in starch for a while to let the starch wrap the surface of the yam.

2. Crack the eggs into a bowl, then add the prepared flour and dry starch, and then add a small amount of water to make a paste.

3. Put more oil in the pot, coat the processed yam in the prepared batter, then fry it in the hot oil. When it turns golden and hard, remove it and drain the excess oil.

4. After frying the yam, pour out the oil in the pot and wash the pot with clean water before using it again. Put a small amount of water in the pot, then put the sugar in and heat it. Be sure to use a low heat here, and use a spoon to constantly stir the sugar. When the syrup in the pot turns golden yellow and is accompanied by small bubbles, it is considered fried.

5. Put the fried yam into the prepared syrup, stir it with a spoon to make sure each piece of yam is covered with syrup, then you can take it out and serve it on a plate.

6. Sweet candied yam is a dish that should be eaten while hot, otherwise you won’t be able to enjoy the pleasure of candied yam. In order to avoid burns, you can rinse the prepared sweet candied yam in cold water before eating it. This will not only lower the temperature but also make the taste more tempting.
