White Cardamom Porridge

The Compendium of Materia Medica says that it "mainly treats cold air accumulation, stops vomiting and nausea, eliminates food and lowers qi, disperses stagnant qi in the lungs, and widens the diaphragm to eat." The Kaibao Materia Medica says that it "mainly treats cold air accumulation, stops vomiting and nausea, eliminates food and lowers qi." Pharmacological studies have shown that white cardamom decoction can promote gastric juice decoction, increase gastrointestinal motility, stop abnormal fermentation in the intestines, and expel gas accumulation in the stomach and intestines, so it has a good aromatic stomachic effect. Cooking the two into porridge and taking it can wake up the stomach, strengthen the spleen and remove dampness, so it is effective for spleen and stomach qi stagnation and dampness blocking the middle jiao.

Note: It is not suitable for patients with heat accumulation in the spleen and stomach, vomiting due to stomach heat, and abdominal pain due to heat.
