How to graft sapodilla

1. The grafting of sapodilla is usually carried out in the spring every year, but before grafting, the seeds of sapodilla must be preserved in the previous year. When spring comes, these seeds should be planted, and the next operation can be carried out after they grow new branches.

2. After the new branches of the sapodilla grow out, layering should be used to press one new branch into several branches. Grafting can only be carried out after they have grown for one year.

3. Peel off the three to four centimeters wide outer skin at the bottom of the new branches that have grown for one year, then wrap them with fertilizer made from fermented straw, and wrap some wet soil around it. After wrapping, store it for about two months and the new branches of the sapodilla will grow roots. During the storage process, water the soil frequently to keep it moist so that the roots of the sapodilla can fully develop.

4. After the roots of the sapodilla grow, the grafting is successful. The next step is to plant it. Before planting, it is necessary to apply sufficient base fertilizer and prevent the appearance of scale insects. The new tree will bear fruit four to five years after planting.
