Ivy cultivation methods and precautions

Ivy is a vine plant that does not require a high growth environment. It grows in warm areas in the south. Roadsides, walls of houses and yards are the main places for growing ivy. However, some people do not know how to grow ivy, and do not know what to pay attention to when growing ivy. Today, I will talk about it in detail.

Ivy cultivation methods and precautions

1. Pay attention to temperature control when growing ivy

Ivy is a green plant that likes a warm environment. It is not cold-resistant or heat-resistant. It grows most vigorously in spring. When growing ivy, it is best to place it in a warm environment between 20 and 25 degrees, which is most conducive to its growth. In addition, after entering winter, ivy must not be placed in an environment below ten degrees, otherwise it will die due to low temperatures.

2. Pay attention to light conditions when growing ivy

Ivy is a shade-loving plant, but its leaves prefer light. When growing ivy, it is best to place it under office conditions. If it is grown indoors, it should be placed in a place with sufficient light. However, after the hot summer weather, the ivy should be shaded as necessary. In spring and autumn, it can be exposed to sufficient sunlight in the morning and evening, and it should also be shaded at other times.

3. Pay attention to fertilizer and water management when growing ivy

If you want to grow ivy well, fertilizer and water management is very important. Moderate watering during the cultivation period is the trick to growing ivy. The soil for growing ivy should not be too wet or too dry. It is best to keep the pot soil semi-wet. Ivy does not require too much fertilizer. In the early stage of its growth, it can eat some decomposed cake fertilizer. Do not fertilize ivy in hot summer weather. Fertilize once a year after the ivy flowers fall, so that it can provide sufficient nutrients for flowering next year.
