Peony Planting Technology

1. Choice of soil for planting peony

When planting peonies, you should choose loose, fertile and well-drained land. When planting, you should plant it in a sunny place with north wind and no water accumulation. Peonies are mostly planted in late September and early October every year. The spacing between plants and rows should be about 50 centimeters.

2. Fertilization of peony flowers

When planting peonies, fertilizers should be applied at least three times a year. The first time is before flowering, which can promote flowering. The second time is about half a month after flowering, which can replenish the nutrients consumed by the raw peony during flowering. The last time should be applied before winter comes, which is conducive to the safe wintering of the peony. The topdressing of peonies is mainly cake fertilizer, and a small amount of chemical compound fertilizer can be mixed in.

3. Water control when planting peonies

When planting peonies, the water supply must also be reasonably controlled. It is a relatively drought-resistant plant and does not require frequent watering. However, after the dry season comes, the peony must be watered in time to keep the soil moist. After heavy rain in summer, drainage must be carried out in time. Water must not be allowed to accumulate in the peony field, otherwise large areas of peony flowers will die.
