How to make dogwood tea:

1. Leaf selection

Remove yellow, insect-eyed, rusty leaves, thick stems and other impurities from the raw dry leaves.

2. Resoftening

Wash the selected leaves with cold water to remove the dirt on the leaf surface, then soak them in a small amount of cold water for 15 to 18 hours to make the water content of the leaves reach 60 to 65% (this step is not required for fresh leaf processing).

3. Remove alkali

There are many ways to remove alkali. Dunhuang Luobu Ma Comprehensive Development Center adopts a unique physical method to remove alkali in order to reduce the alkaline components in the original leaves.

4. Drying

Spread the softened leaves in a bamboo basket to dry, wait until the moisture on the surface of the leaves dissipates and the leaves are stuck to each other.

5. Finishing

Use a flat pan and sand bath to heat it. When the temperature in the pan reaches 180-200℃, add the ingredients and keep turning up and down with two wooden forks. The operation should be quick and sensitive, and the leaves should be shaken constantly. The leaves should be evenly fried and not burnt. Fry for 2-3 minutes until the veins are soft and continuous.

6. Rolling

Place the withered leaves in a bamboo basket to dry for a while, then roll them into strips.

7. Stir-fry until dry

Place the rolled leaves in a bamboo basket for about 30 minutes to fix their shape, then stir-fry them in a pan for 12 to 15 minutes at a temperature of about 120 to 140°C. Stir-fry until you can hear a sound and the color of the leaves changes from light to dark green.

8. Drying

After frying dry, put it in an oven at 80℃ ~ 90℃ and bake for 30 minutes to make fried green Lophatherum gracile tea.

9. Improvement of tea quality

Luobu Ma leaves do not contain caffeine, lack the bitterness of tea, have a light taste, and have a slight odor. In order to make up for its shortcomings, the following improvements can be made.

(1) Lophatherum hop tea: Lophatherum venetum tea is blended with hops. Hops taste bitter, and after blending, Lophatherum venetum tea tastes similar to ordinary tea. Add 1 part of dry hops to 30 parts of Lophatherum venetum tea. First, crush the dry hops and mix them in proportion.

(2) Robusta coffee tea (add 4% caffeine): dissolve caffeine in hot water and use this solution to soak dry Robusta leaves. The production method is the same as that of Robusta hop tea. The processing method is the same as that of Robusta hop tea.

(3) Luobu Zhenmei Tea: 2 parts Luobu Ma tea and 1 part Zhenmei green tea.

(4) Fragrant Luobu Ma Tea: Take 1 part of Luobu Ma tea powder and mix it with 0.7 parts of jasmine tea pieces. Mix well.

(5) Strengthening Luobu Ma Tea: Take 1 part of Luobu Ma tea powder, spray it with an aqueous solution containing 0.05 parts of cocoa powder and 0.1 parts of sucrose powder to make the tea moist, and dry it at 60℃~70℃.

(6) Utilization of Apocynum venetum tea powder: Use the broken leaves from the Apocynum venetum dry leaves, sieve them through a 3 cm diameter sieve, and then sieve them through a 60 mesh sieve to remove fine powder and dust. Soak them in water, rinse them to remove impurities, and then make plain tea powder after withering and drying.
