Understanding Tomato

Tomato is a vegetable that I like very much. Here I will introduce you to tomatoes:

Tomato Introduction

Tomato is also known as tomato, foreign tomato, and its ancient name is June persimmon and Xibao Sanyuan.

Nutritional Value

1. Tomatoes are very low in calories, with only 16 calories per 100 grams. Tomatoes have little sugar, so you won’t get fat even if you eat more.

2. The dietary fiber is a good helper for cleansing the intestines and detoxifying. Not only can dietary fiber not be digested by the stomach and intestines, but it can also absorb cholesterol, fat and other substances in the body and excrete them with the stool, thus playing a role in weight loss.

3. The lycopene in tomatoes can reduce the body's calorie intake and reduce fat accumulation.

4. Tomatoes are high in water content, with 95 grams of water in every 100 grams of tomatoes, so they have a strong satiety effect. Moreover, these water contents can promote excretion and reduce the accumulation of toxins and fat.

8. Eating tomatoes before meals can help you lose weight.

Selection of tomatoes

When choosing tomatoes, choose those that are pink, round, and have small white dots on the skin. They feel like they have a light powdery layer on the surface and are very soft when pinched. The pedicle must be round and preferably light green. The seeds are earthy yellow, the flesh is red, sandy, and juicy. Don't buy those with pointed tips, high bottoms, or edges, and don't choose those that feel light in your hand, as these are all ripened tomatoes. Ripened tomatoes are completely red, feel very hard, and have a polyhedral appearance. When you break them open, you will see that the seeds are green or have no seeds, and there is no juice in the flesh. This is the method used by vendors to ripen bananas. A chemical called "ethephon" is applied to the tomatoes. Although this drug is less toxic, it is harmful to the human body if consumed for a long time.
