If the surface changes color, mold, insect bites, and burns, it means that the noodles have deteriorated and should not be eaten. If the nose smells "rancid", moldy, or other odors, it means that the oil has deteriorated and should not be eaten.

Good instant noodles should not have obvious breaks after being rehydrated, and should not feel raw or sticky after being boiled (soaked) for 3 to 5 minutes. Otherwise, they are poor quality instant noodles.
