Authentic pickled garlic

Ingredients for pickled garlic

When you want to pickle garlic cloves, you need to prepare fresh garlic cloves and appropriate amounts of sugar and salt. In addition, you also need to prepare appropriate amounts of soy sauce, white vinegar and Korean chili sauce, and finally some chili powder.

Steps for pickled garlic

1. Remove the old leaves and mud from the prepared fresh garlic cloves, wash them with clean water, and then put them into a basin and soak them in clean water. The soaking time should be about twelve hours. You can soak them at night and take them out the next day, and drain the water after taking them out.

2. Put the prepared sugar, soy sauce, white vinegar and other seasonings together and mix well to make a sauce. If you like a sweeter taste, add more soy sauce; if you like sour taste, add more vinegar. You can mix it freely.

3. Pour the prepared seasoning juice into the garlic roots, mix well and marinate. After marinating for three hours, add appropriate amount of Korean hot sauce, mix well and put into a clean bottle, seal and marinate. After three to five days, the garlic roots will be seasoned and taste especially good when taken out and eaten.
