How to ripen persimmons? Techniques for ripening persimmons

Persimmon is a very popular fruit in life, but many people find that persimmons are very hard after buying them and cannot be eaten directly, so they want to ripen them. But how should persimmons be ripened? What are the methods and techniques for ripening them? If you want to learn more about this knowledge, follow the editor to have a look.

How to ripen persimmons

The most common method to ripen persimmons in life is to soak them in lime water. When necessary, you can take 500 grams of quicklime, add appropriate amount of water, mix it into lime water, and then put the lime water in a larger container, and soak the persimmons that need to be ripened directly in the lime water. After 3 to 5 days, the persimmons will become soft, and all the impurities will be removed. At this time, wash the persimmons with clean water and eat them directly.

Persimmon Ripening Methods and Techniques

1. High temperature ripening

Unripe persimmons can be ripened by high temperature. The simplest way is to put the unripe persimmons in a basin, add hot water at about 60 degrees and let the hot water completely submerge the persimmons. Change the water three to four times a day. After two to three days, the persimmons will become soft and can be eaten directly. At this time, the persimmons will not only taste good, but also be particularly sweet.

2. Apply alcohol

Applying a proper amount of alcohol on the surface of persimmons can also play a certain role in ripening. When necessary, you can apply a proper amount of alcohol directly on the purchased persimmons, and then place the persimmons in a warm environment. After 4 to 5 days, those hard raw persimmons will become soft and ripe. At this time, you can wash them with clean water and eat them directly.

3. Fruit ripening

Persimmons can also be ripened through other fruits, because many naturally ripened fruits will release a large amount of ethylene during the storage process. This substance can accelerate the ripening of persimmons, soften hard persimmons, and reduce the sour taste of persimmons. Common bananas, apples, pears and other fruits in life can be stored together with persimmons. When storing them, put them together in a sealable plastic bag and seal it, and then store them in a warm environment. The persimmons inside will be ripe in about five days.
