How to make your own dried basil and bayberry

Bayberry is a fruit that everyone is very familiar with, and it can be eaten in many different ways. It can be made into bayberry juice, bayberry jam or bayberry wine for everyone to eat. In fact, in addition to these ways of eating, bayberry can also be made into dried bayberry. Appropriate amounts of perilla and ginger are added during the production process. The taste is particularly good after it is made. If you want to eat it, you can see the detailed introduction of its preparation below.

Ingredients for dried basil and bayberry

When making dried perilla bayberry, you need to prepare 500 grams of fresh bayberry, an appropriate amount of perilla, an appropriate amount of ginger, 300 grams of rock sugar, and about 200 grams of water.

Steps to make dried basil and bayberry

1. Wash the prepared perilla with clean water, add a small amount of salt and clean water, soak for about half an hour, wash the ginger with clean water, then cut into strips and dry the surface moisture.

2. Put the prepared fresh bayberry in a basin, add appropriate amount of table salt, then add clean water, mix well and soak for about half an hour. This will allow all the small insects and eggs in the bayberry to be soaked out in the salt water. After taking it out, wash it several times with clean water to remove the moisture and set aside.

3. Put the prepared rock sugar and bayberry together, mix well, and marinate for 3 to 5 hours. After a large amount of bayberry juice is smoked out of the basin, pour them into the pot together.

4. Heat the bayberry and bayberry juice in the pot and bring to a boil, then add the prepared perilla and ginger and cook together. After boiling, turn down the heat and simmer slowly. After all the bayberry juice in the pot is dried up, continue to simmer for a while. After the bayberries become dry and small, you can turn off the heat and take them out. After cooling down, the homemade perilla dried bayberry is ready. You can take it out and eat it anytime you want.

5. When making dried bayberry with basil, the amount of rock sugar is not fixed. You can choose according to your taste. If you like sour taste, put less rock sugar, and if you like sweet taste, put more rock sugar. In addition, when making dried bayberry with basil, it is best to choose sour bayberry, so that the dried bayberry will be more flavorful.
