1. Bag lifting method

After purchasing fresh chestnuts, you can put them in a cool and ventilated place for two to three days, then put them in a cloth bag, hang them in a cool and ventilated place, and shake them once or twice a day. This will allow the chestnuts to be preserved for four to five months without deterioration, and they will still taste fresh when eaten.

2. Keep in refrigerator

Fresh chestnuts can also be refrigerated. Usually, you can put fresh chestnuts in cold boiled water, add a small amount of table salt, soak for three to five minutes to remove the bacteria on the surface, then wash them with cold boiled water, dry them in the sun for two days, then put them away, wrap them in plastic bags, and put them in the refrigerator. They can be stored for thirty to forty-five days without deterioration, and the chestnuts stored in this way are sweet, crisp and tender.

3. Sand burial method

If you want to preserve chestnuts in large quantities, you can use the sand preservation method, which is to air the fresh chestnuts for two or three days, then bury them deep in the sand, and then compact the top layer of sand. This will allow the chestnuts to be preserved for about half, and the preserved chestnuts will be especially fresh, and the flesh will be full of moisture and especially delicious after being taken out.
