Monk fruit, also known as la han guo, false bitter melon, and light fruit turtle, is the fruit of the climbing herbaceous plant Monk fruit of the Cucurbitaceae family. It enters the lung and spleen meridians, can clear the lungs and relieve throat, resolve phlegm and relieve cough, and moisten the intestines and promote bowel movements. It is mainly used to treat lung heat, phlegm and fire cough, whooping cough, sore throat or aphonia, dry intestinal heat, and constipation.

Luo Han Guo has many therapeutic effects. First, it is used for lung heat cough, lung dryness cough and whooping cough. It can be taken orally with decoction alone, or it can be taken with Scutellaria baicalensis, Fritillaria thunbergii, Trichosanthes kirilowii or dried persimmon. Second, it is used for lymphatic tuberculosis. It can be combined with Fritillaria thunbergii, Prunella vulgaris, Trichosanthes kirilowii, etc. to clear away heat and resolve phlegm, detoxify and disperse nodules. Third, it is used for pharyngitis and tonsillitis. It can be taken with Luo Han Guo decoction alone, or it can be brewed with boiling water instead of tea. It has the effect of moisturizing the throat and protecting the vocal cords. Fourth, it is used for thirst caused by loss of body fluid. Monk fruit and houttuynia cordata soup

1 Luo Han Guo, 30g Houttuynia Cordata, 10g Platycodon Grandiflorum, 10g Scutellaria Baicalensis, 6g Licorice. Decoction, 2-3 times a day. Can be used for lung heat cough.

Luo Han Guo Gang Mei Gen Tang

1 Luo Han Guo, 30g of Gangmei root, 10g of Platycodon grandiflorum, 6g of Licorice root. Decoction in water, 1-2 times a day. Suitable for acute tonsillitis.

Monk fruit and persimmon soup

30g of Luo Han Guo and 15g of dried persimmon. Add water and decoct for oral administration. It can treat whooping cough, dry throat, sore throat and other symptoms.

Monk Fruit Slice Soup

30-60g of monk fruit, 100g of lean pork. Cut into slices, add appropriate amount of water and cook, add a little seasoning and drink the soup and eat the meat. Suitable for long-term cough, lung deficiency with heat or cough due to tuberculosis. Another recipe: 1 monk fruit, 15g of Stemona tuber, 30g of lean pork. Boil them together, drink the soup and eat the meat. It can treat whooping cough.

Monk fruit and Sterculia lychnophora soup

One monk fruit and an appropriate amount of Sterculia lychnophora can be brewed with boiling water and slowly drunk as tea. It can treat pharyngitis, intestinal dryness and heat, and constipation.

Monk Fruit Cough Syrup

This is a Chinese patent medicine, made of syrup made from monk fruit, mulberry bark, stemona, loquat leaf, radix scutellariae, platycodon grandiflorum, peppermint oil, citric acid, etc. Take 10-15 ml orally each time, and reduce the dosage for children.
