Traditional Chinese medicine confirms that melon has the significant effect of "cooling off heat, relieving thirst and promoting urination". It is an annual vine plant. Four qian of each dose, one and a half cups of water, boil until one cup, take before meals, and it will help to expel bad things and heal.

Treat jaundice: Grind the melon stem into powder and blow it into the nose. If yellow water comes out, that's it.

Morphological characteristics of melon

Muskmelon has a well-developed root system, with a main root depth of more than 1 meter and lateral roots of 2-3 meters in diameter. However, the root regeneration ability is weak and it is not suitable for transplantation. The stem is round, ribbed, covered with short prickles, and has strong branching. Single leaves are alternate, and the leaves are nearly round or kidney-shaped and covered with hair. Flowers are axillary, unisexual or bisexual, insect-pollinated, and the flowers are yellow. The fruits are spherical, ellipsoidal, spindle, long tube, etc. The ripe fruit skin is white, green, yellow, brown, or with stripes and spots of various colors. The fruit surface is smooth or has net patterns, cracks, and ridges. The flesh is white, orange, green and yellow, and has an aroma. The seeds are lanceolate or oblate, and vary in size. The large netted melon weighs about 25 grams per thousand seeds, while the small sesame crisps weigh only about 14 grams per seed. Muskmelon seeds begin to germinate at 16℃--18℃, and germinate fastest at 30℃. The optimum growth temperature is 25℃--32℃, and assimilation is still good at 40℃. Muskmelon requires low air humidity. Among melons, netted melons are not tolerant to moisture, followed by ordinary melons, and Vietnamese melons and cucumbers are more tolerant to moisture. Muskmelon requires good sunshine. When there is sufficient sunshine, there are fewer diseases, the plants grow strong, and the fruits are abundant and of good quality.
