How to manage sword-leaved calla lily and how to grow arrow-leaved calla lily

Sword-leaf calla lily belongs to the Araceae family and is a poisonous green plant. However, the leaves of this plant are thick, green, and have a lot of beautiful patterns on the surface. In addition, its beautiful shape makes it one of the most popular ornamental plants in life. It can be cultivated on a large scale or made into potted plants for people to enjoy. However, when cultivating sword-leaf calla lily, you must master its management methods, otherwise it is difficult to grow it well.

How to manage sword-leaved calla lily and how to grow arrow-leaved calla lily

1. Choose the right soil

When cultivating the sword-leaf calla lily, you must choose suitable soil for it. If you cultivate it on a large scale, you can choose loose, fertile, slightly acidic soil. If you cultivate it in potted plants, you need to prepare nutrient soil yourself with leaf mold or peat soil, river sand, and cake fertilizer. You should also loosen the soil once a month during the cultivation of the sword-leaf calla lily.

2. Apply fertilizer appropriately

Sword-leaf calla lily is a fertilizer-loving plant, but it must be fertilized moderately during the breeding period. During its normal growth period, apply fertilizer every 10 to 15 days. You can choose a thin liquid fertilizer, which should be mainly nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers. When the breeding environment drops below 15 degrees, the growth rate of the sword-leaf calla lily will slow down. If the temperature continues to drop, it will enter a dormant state. At this time, the amount of fertilizer must be reduced, especially when it enters a dormant state, fertilization should be stopped.

3. Reasonable watering

Reasonable watering is also a key to managing sword-leaf calla lily. This plant needs sufficient water during its growth period, especially after entering the hot summer. Not only should the soil in the pot be kept moist, but its leaves should also be sprayed with water in time. However, after it enters the dormant state in winter, the number of watering can be reduced. Water it every seven to ten days and spray its leaves with water. You can use an appropriate amount of warm water when spraying.

4. Temperature and sunlight

Temperature and sunlight are also the key points of management when cultivating sword-leaf calla lily, because only suitable temperature and sunlight can make this plant grow normally. Sword-leaf calla lily is a green plant that likes warm plants. It grows fastest when the external environment is between 20 and 30 degrees. When the temperature drops below 15 degrees, its growth will slow down. Sword-leaf calla lily needs moderate light during its growth process. It can be placed in a semi-shaded environment at ordinary times, and it must not be placed in direct sunlight for a long time.
