Cultivation methods and precautions of Hypericum

Cultivation methods and precautions of Hypericum

Hypericum is a wild shrub with extremely high ornamental value. It can be planted in large quantities, or made into potted plants and grown at home. It can also be used as medicine. Its economic and ornamental value are particularly high. However, some people want to raise a Hypericum delicacy but don’t know how to do it. Today I will write down its cultivation methods and the things that need to be paid attention to during cultivation and tell you.

How to cultivate Hypericum

1. Soil

When growing Hypericum, you must choose the right soil. This plant has strong vitality and is not demanding on soil. It can be planted in poor land for large-scale planting. If it is made into a tray and grown at home, you need to use some decomposed fertilizer in the pot soil as base fertilizer. No matter what environment you grow Hypericum, just keep the soil loose and fertile.

2. Moisture

Water is one of the important conditions for growing Hypericum. After its branches begin to sprout, it is necessary to water it in time. After this summer, it is necessary to water it every 7 to 10 days. However, after entering the rainy season, attention must be paid to drainage and water must not be allowed to accumulate in the fields. After entering winter, it is necessary to water it in time to prevent frost.

3. Fertilizer

Hypericum needs sufficient fertilizer during its growth period. Usually, people should apply enough decomposed organic fertilizer to the soil before cultivating Hypericum. After the leaves fall in autumn every year, they should dig trenches around its roots and apply decomposed compost. Usually, there is no need to apply too much fertilizer during its growing season, otherwise its branches will droop, affecting its ornamental value.

Precautions for cultivating Hypericum

When growing Hypericum, you can propagate it through sowing, cuttings and division, but when it is made into potted plants, it is only suitable for cuttings and division and not suitable for sowing. In addition, during the cultivation of Hypericum, you must pay attention to pruning. In summer or winter every year, you must trim its long branches, weak branches and diseased branches, and cut its branches short according to the needs of the shape, so as to maintain the good appearance of Hypericum and promote its rapid growth.
