1. Select the tree stump

If you want to make a banyan bonsai yourself, you must choose a suitable banyan tree stump. It is best to go to the wild to select a natural wild tree stump. The time can be chosen between February and October each year, because the stumps selected at this time are most likely to take root and sprout, and the survival rate is particularly good. In addition, the stumps should be processed and planted as soon as possible after selection.

2. Prepare the potting soil

When making banyan bonsai, the preparation of stone potting soil is also very important. This plant likes loose, breathable, and slightly acidic soil. When preparing the potting soil, it is best to choose black stone, powder mud, river sand, and stone powder and coal slag used in construction to mix and prepare. In addition, you can also add an appropriate amount of bone meal or bean cake as base fertilizer when preparing the potting soil.

3. Planting requirements

When making a banyan bonsai, there are certain requirements for planting. You can insert the banyan tree stump into the potting soil about three inches, then add culture soil on the upper layer and water it enough. Put the flowerpot in a cool and sheltered place for maintenance. After it takes root and grows new leaves, move it to a suitable environment for long-term placement.

4. Daily management

When making a banyan bonsai, daily management is also very important. You must master the frequency of watering. Usually, just keep the soil in the pot moist. Do not let the soil be too dry, and do not let water accumulate in the pot. In addition, the banyan bonsai should be placed in a ventilated and lighted place. If there is insufficient sunlight and water, the banyan plant will turn yellow and dry, and in severe cases, the banyan tree will die directly.
