Schefflera cuttings steps diagram Schefflera propagation method

Schefflera arborvitae is known as the fortune tree. It is the most common foliage plant in life. It can be placed in the living room or office. Its leaves are green and evergreen all year round. It has a particularly high ornamental value and can purify the air. Schefflera arborvitae has a strong vitality and can be propagated by cuttings. However, people do not know much about the steps of its cuttings. Today, the editor will focus on introducing it to you and will also tell you in detail its propagation methods.

Steps for cutting Schefflera

1. When propagating Schefflera by cuttings, it is best to do it from April to September each year, and the ambient temperature must be around 20 degrees. When propagating by cuttings, you need to prepare a pair of scissors, and then cut off strong branches from a strong Schefflera that has grown for more than two years.

2. Cut off all the leaves at the bottom of the branches, leaving only three leaves on the top. Place a hard object at the bottom of the flowerpot, spread a layer of sand, and then pour in the prepared culture soil. Insert the cut Schefflera branches directly into the soil, and then press it and water it thoroughly.

3. After the branches of Schefflera are cut, the flowerpot should be moved to a cool place. When the soil becomes a little dry, water it in time. In this way, the Schefflera will grow new leaves in about a month, which proves that the cuttings have been successful. Then move it to an environment with scattered light and cultivate it.

How to propagate Schefflera

In addition to propagation by cuttings, the foliage plant Schefflera can also be propagated by direct division. When propagating in this way, you should choose a Schefflera with relatively vigorous growth. Its branches close to the potting soil will grow small roots. Such branches can be removed and planted directly in another flowerpot in a cool environment. The seedling growth period is up to ten days, and new leaves will soon grow. This method of propagation has a higher survival rate than cuttings.
