Magnolia is an evergreen tree with a strong fragrance. When the white flowers bloom, you can smell the strong fragrance from afar. Moreover, the flowering period of this plant is particularly long, and it can bloom all year round. It is the favorite ornamental plant for many flower lovers. But do you know how to grow Magnolia? Do you know what to pay attention to when growing Magnolia? If you don't know, take a look at the professional introduction made by the editor.

Farming methods

1. Preparation of culture soil

The preparation of the culture soil for growing Magnolia is very important. This plant likes loose soil with good drainage. When preparing the potting soil, you can choose 5 parts of leaf mold, 2 parts of husk ash, 2 parts of coarse sand, and 1 part of decomposed organic fertilizer. You must not choose fine sand or clay soil with poor air permeability. Before putting the culture soil into the flowerpot, you should use bricks or tiles to pad the bottom of it to prevent poor drainage.

2. Moisture regulation

Water temperature regulation is an important part of growing white magnolia. White magnolia has fleshy roots and is relatively drought-resistant. It should not be watered too much at normal times, especially after entering the flowering period. It must be watered moderately, every 3 to 4 days, and it is enough to water thoroughly. If you water too much or too little, it will affect its flowering period.

3. Fertilization principles

The principles of fertilization for magnolia cultivation must be mastered. This plant does not like concentrated fertilizers. When applying fertilizer to it, you can choose thin liquid fertilizers. It is best to choose nutrient fertilizers with high phosphorus and potassium content. If you apply agricultural fertilizers to magnolia, its leaves will turn yellow, the flowers will fall off, and in severe cases, it will die directly.

Breeding precautions

When growing white magnolia, you must pay attention to the pH value of the culture soil. This plant is afraid of alkali and cannot survive in alkaline soil. Usually, the pH value of the culture soil must be kept at around 6. If you are in northern China, you should pay more attention when growing white magnolia, because the water and soil in these areas are alkaline. During the breeding period, you should use more rice water for irrigation, so that the culture soil can always remain slightly acidic.
