Cultivation methods and precautions for potted tulips

1. Selection of bulbs and potting soil

The selection of bulbs and the configuration of the heads of the two potted tulips are very important. You must choose high-quality bulbs that are mature, strong, solid, intact, free of pests and spots. The potting soil for potted tulips needs to be fertile, loose, well-drained, and slightly acidic. Tulips are fertilizer-loving plants. When preparing potting soil, you can choose rotten leaves and decomposed cake fertilizer as base fertilizer.

2. Light and temperature

When growing potted tulips, choose a sunny place. When growing them at home, it is best to place them on a sunny windowsill or balcony, because it is a light-loving plant. If it is not exposed to sunlight for a long time, its leaves will turn yellow and it will directly affect the flowering period. Tulips grow fastest and bloom in time when the outside temperature is between 10 and 20 degrees. When the outside temperature is too high or too low, it will affect the growth of tulips and make them bloom late.

3. Precautions for potted tulip cultivation

When you buy fresh bulbs for potted tulips, you must disinfect them first, otherwise they will easily rot after planting. In addition, the potting soil for potted tulips must be sandy loam, and never use sticky alkaline soil. In addition, after the bulbs are planted, there must be sufficient water in the soil, otherwise the bulbs will not germinate at all.
