Cultivation methods and precautions of Nepenthes

Do you know Nepenthes? It is a beautiful ornamental plant that can be made into a potted plant and cultivated indoors. In addition, Nepenthes is also an insectivorous plant. Usually, it is placed on the balcony to play a good insect repellent effect. But how should this Nepenthes be cultivated? I will write down the cultivation methods and precautions of Nepenthes in a while, and friends in need can study it carefully.

Cultivation methods and precautions of Nepenthes

1. Soil and water quality of pitcher plants

When cultivating pitcher plants, you should choose soil that is well permeable and fertile. The best choice is a mixture of charcoal soil, sphagnum moss, charcoal and other materials. In addition, pitcher plants have relatively high requirements for water. They can only develop normally under high humidity conditions, and they need to be sprayed with water continuously during the growth period, four to five times a day is best. If the environment is dry, it will directly affect the production of pitcher plants.

2. Growth temperature of pitcher plants

The pitcher plant likes to grow in a high temperature environment. It grows fastest when the outside temperature reaches 25 to 30 degrees. It grows slowly in winter, but as long as the room temperature is not lower than 16 degrees, it will not stop growing. If the temperature in winter is lower than 10 degrees, the leaves of the pitcher plant will turn yellow.

3. Nepenthes' need for fertilizer

Nepenthes has very low requirements for fertilizer because it can prey on pests itself, and the preyed pests can be converted into nutrients for the pitcher plant. If there are no insects in the house, it needs to be fertilized every twenty years or so. It is best to choose a thin cake fertilizer or a compound fertilizer with an appropriate concentration.
