Clivia cultivation method

Clivia cultivation method

Clivia is an elegant and handsome plant with a gentlemanly demeanor. Its flowers are orchid-like. Moreover, Clivia is green all year round and has the strongest shade tolerance. It is an ideal flower for indoor cultivation and decoration of halls. It is also praised by people as a living handicraft and a "money flower". Let me introduce to you the cultivation methods of Clivia.

Clivia cultivation method

1. Cultivation soil. It is best to use soil rich in humus to cultivate Clivia, because this type of soil has good air permeability and water permeability, and the soil is fertile and slightly acidic. The cultivation pot should be gradually enlarged as the plant grows.

2. Watering amount. Because Clivia has developed fleshy roots, it can store water well and has a certain degree of drought resistance. The soil moisture content is 30%.

3. Fertilization. Clivia likes fertilizer, but be careful not to apply too much, because it will easily rot the roots. In addition to applying base fertilizer, the principle of "thin fertilizer and frequent application" should be followed when applying topdressing.

4. Sunlight. Clivia is afraid of high temperature and strong sunlight, so during the cultivation process, the plant should be kept away from direct sunlight and placed in a high humidity, cool and ventilated environment. Clivia is also afraid of cold, and the temperature should be between 15 and 25 degrees.

5. Disease prevention and control. The disease is usually soft rot, which occurs on the lower leaf sheaths and appears as water-soaked dark green irregular spots. In the early stage of the disease, you can spray with drugs such as penicillin. In severe cases, the rotten part should be removed, and the remaining rhizomes should be soaked in potassium permanganate solution for 1 hour, then washed with water and replanted.
