How to make sesame candy sticks How to make sesame candy sticks

Sesame candy sticks are a favorite snack for many people when they were young, and they are also their best childhood memories. Sesame candy sticks taste crispy and delicious, sweet but not greasy. Nowadays, the craftsmanship of many manufacturers is not as good as the sesame candy sticks we ate at that time. If you want the authentic taste, you might as well make sesame candy sticks by yourself. Next, let's take a look at how to make sesame candy sticks.

How to make sesame candy sticks

1. Boil sugar

Prepare a pot, preferably a non-stick pot, add plenty of water into the pot, then pour the prepared white sugar into the pot, and boil over high heat. When the water boils, big bubbles will appear. Ignore them and continue to boil. Slowly, the color of the sugar will turn dark, and the big bubbles will turn into small bubbles. At this time, turn to low heat until the soup turns amber and the small bubbles become more and more dense. Add maltose and stir evenly.

2. Roasted sesame seeds

First prepare a cutting board and spread the wax paper on it. Put the pot on the fire, pour in the sesame seeds and fry them over low heat. Stir the sesame seeds constantly while frying to ensure that they are evenly heated. This will prevent some of the sesame seeds from being undercooked while others are burnt. When the sesame seeds are 80% cooked, gently pinch them with your fingers and they will break. At this time, you can pour the sesame seeds onto the wax paper.

3. Pull sugar

Take out the boiled sugar, wait for it to cool down a little, take out the boiled maltose, add the fried sesame seeds, and pull it hard, just like pulling ramen noodles. This requires a certain amount of strength and needs to be learned several times. As the strength is added, the sugar will become thinner and thinner until it becomes a cylinder with a diameter of about one centimeter.

4. Cut sugar

Place the sesame candy strips neatly on the chopping board, let them cool slightly, and then cut them into even strips. Put them in the prepared clean plate. After they are completely cooled, you can eat them. Take a bite and the crumbs will fall off, filling your mouth with fragrance, just like the taste of childhood.
