Mushrooms are a species of fungus that is needed to grow many edible fungi in life. You can also grow them at home. However, the methods of growing mushrooms are different for different edible fungi. Today, I will take mushrooms as an example to tell you how to grow mushrooms.

How to grow mushrooms

1. Preparation for mushroom cultivation

When growing mushrooms at home, you need to prepare some necessary materials, such as straw, vegetable cakes, urea, superphosphate, lime, etc. After preparing them, pile them up outdoors and store them for about half a month. Turn them over three to four times during the stacking period. Then transfer them to the mushroom house, heat them to about 60 degrees, keep them for eight hours, then cool them down to 50 degrees, keep them like this for three days, and the fermentation will be completed.

2. Sowing and management of mushroom cultivation

After the materials are fermented, they are divided into two parts, one part is two-thirds, and the other part is one-third. First, put the prepared bacteria in two-thirds of the materials, mix them well, and then sprinkle the remaining materials on the surface and flatten them with a flat wooden board. After doing all this, you can close the doors and windows, maintain a suitable temperature, and then the bacteria will begin to ferment.

3. Mushroom growth management

When the mycelium grows at the bottom of the material layer, you should start covering the soil. You can choose river mud or fine mud. After covering the soil, you should disinfect it with formaldehyde. After about 15 days, the mycelium will grow into primordium. At this time, ventilate and spray the mushroom house with water to keep it moist. The mushrooms will grow quickly and can be harvested after more than ten days.
