When we planted loofah, we found that the flowers of loofah rotted. Why is this happening? 1. Dried and rotten flowersSymptoms: The edges of the petals are dry and rotten (different from water rot), and the entire petal is not fresh. Disease analysis: This may be a symptom of vine blight on the flower. It occurs more severely in low light conditions, especially after a series of cloudy days. Solution: Spray methyl thiophanate, Dasheng or Shibaogong to reduce the occurrence of the disease. 2. Water rotten flowersSymptoms: Water rot begins to appear at the edges of the petals. In severe cases, the petals may begin to drip. Sometimes there is a bad smell, and sometimes there is no smell but there is white mold. Disease analysis: If there is a bad smell but no hair, it may be bacterial soft rot. If there is white mold, it may be blossom end rot or cotton blight. Both of these conditions occur more seriously under high temperature and high humidity conditions. Solution: For bacterial soft rot, you can spray streptomycin and phytosporin on the leaves, or you can spray copper preparations such as chloramphenicol or crown fungicide. For blossom rot and cotton blight, you can spray the leaves with drugs such as Kelu, Kojia, Anke, and Ridomil, or add some drugs to the anther. 3. Stigma rotSymptoms: Black rot appears on the stigma of the flower, accompanied by blossom end rot. Disease analysis: This may be a disease caused by a lack of elements such as boron and calcium in the soil. It is also related to poor root absorption or uncoordinated water supply. Solution: You can spray foliar fertilizers containing boron, calcium and other elements on the leaves, such as Green Fenwei No. 3 or No. 2, Gai Zhong Calcium, calcium nitrate, etc. You can also flush some calcium fertilizers such as Norwegian calcium nitrate. At the same time, you must pay attention to root care to enhance the absorption capacity of the root system. You can increase the application of humic acid and microbial fertilizers, or flush the application of fast-absorbing fertilizers, or use methyl thiophanate, carbendazim, ethyl phosphate aluminum manganese zinc and other agents, and then add rooting agents to irrigate the roots, about 0.25 kg per plant. |
