Environmental conditions for the cultivation of Agrocybe aegerita

Only in a suitable environment can plants grow better, and the same is true for tea tree mushrooms. If we do not choose a good environment, it may have a certain impact on the growth of tea tree mushrooms. So today I will talk to you about the growth conditions of tea tree mushrooms:

1. Temperature

Agrocybe aegerita is a wide-temperature edible fungus, and the mycelium growth temperature is 5-35℃. The suitable temperature is 22-27℃. The mycelium growth rate slows down significantly below 20℃, and almost stops growing below 5℃; although the mycelium grows fast above 30℃, the mycelium growth is weak, and the mycelium above 35℃ is difficult to grow until it dies. Agrocybe aegerita mycelium can withstand low temperatures and will not die at -4℃. The growth temperature for fruiting body formation is 13-28℃, and the most suitable temperature is 20-24℃. Different strains have slightly different requirements. Under slightly low temperature conditions, although the growth is slow, the fruiting body is large, thick and of good quality.

2. Humidity

Water is an important component of the mycelium and fruiting body of Agrocybe aegerita. The moisture content of Agrocybe aegerita cultivation materials should be controlled at 60% to 65%. A moisture content below 50% or above 70% will affect the growth of mycelium. It is better to control the relative humidity of the air at 60%-70% during the spawning stage. In principle, it is better to keep it dry than wet. Excessive relative humidity will reduce the mycelium's resistance to foreign matter and increase the contamination rate. During the differentiation and formation stage of primordium, the relative humidity of the air should be increased to 80%-85%. During the fruiting body growth stage, the relative humidity of the air should be maintained at 85%-95%.

3. Air

Agrocybe aegerita is an aerobic fungus. Ensuring normal oxygen content in the mushroom house is an important condition for the normal growth and development of Agrocybe aegerita. During the mycelium growth stage, it is necessary to ensure that the growth environment of the mushroom bag is well ventilated and has sufficient oxygen. Normally, the oxygen content in fresh air is 21% and the carbon dioxide content is 0.03%. When the carbon dioxide concentration rises to 1%, the growth of Agrocybe aegerita mycelium and fruiting bodies are significantly inhibited. In production, in order to prevent excessive accumulation of carbon dioxide, the mushroom house should be ventilated frequently. During the fruiting body growth stage, a slightly higher carbon dioxide concentration is conducive to the elongation of the stipe, thereby increasing yield. Therefore, ventilation should be appropriately reduced during the fruiting body growth and development stage, and the management method is the same as the cultivation management of Flammulina velutipes.

4. Light

Like other edible mushrooms, Agrocybe aegerita does not require light during the mycelium growth stage, and strong light will inhibit the growth of mycelium. However, the fruiting body has obvious phototropism, and high-quality commercial mushrooms with small caps and long stipes can be obtained under suitable light conditions. In order to make the fruiting bodies occur neatly and in large quantities, a certain amount of scattered light needs to be provided when entering the primordium differentiation and formation stage. During the fruiting body growth stage, strong light exposure is not suitable, and it should not be lower than 100 lux. The light intensity is 500-1000 lux. The direction of the light source cannot be changed at this stage, otherwise not only will deformed mushrooms and twisted stems appear, but the growth and development will also be affected to a certain extent, affecting the commercial value.

5. pH

The growth adaptability of Agrocybe agrocybe is at pH 4-7, and the most suitable is pH 5-6.5. In actual cultivation, the culture medium is generally adjusted to pH 7-7.5. After sterilization, the pH value will drop to the appropriate pH range.
