Steps to make honeycomb corn

Today I will tell you about a very nutritious delicacy, the method of making honeycomb corn. Let’s take a look:

Honeycomb corn making materials

Ingredients: 150g corn, 1 egg, 25g flour

Seasoning: 5 grams of cornstarch, a little salt, 50 grams of sugar, and refined oil.

Honeycomb corn production steps

1. Float the corn with clean water first; crack the eggs into a large bowl, add flour, cornstarch and salt after mixing, knead into a dough, then add clean water (about 350 grams) to make a thinner batter, and finally add corn kernels into the batter.

2. Take a frying pan with a diameter of 35 cm and place it on the fire. Add refined oil and heat it to 60% hot. Hold the bowl of batter in your left hand, and scoop out the corn kernels from the batter with your right hand. First, slowly sprinkle them into the oil pan in a circle (immersion frying), then pour in a small amount of batter with your hands while frying, until the crispy layer accumulated in the pan forms a "honeycomb".

3. Keep the oil temperature in the pot at 60% hot, dip your right hand into the batter in the bowl, then spread your five fingers and sprinkle the batter on the "honeycomb" in the pot. Repeat this several times until all the batter is sprinkled.

4. When the "honeycomb" in the pan is fried until it is crispy, remove it from the pan and drain the oil. Later, move the "honeycomb" into a round plate and sprinkle with white sugar.

Precautions

1. This dish consumes a lot of oil. One serving of honeycomb corn requires about 2 taels of flour, and the ratio of flour, custard powder, cornstarch, sugar, and baking powder is 5:2:1:1:0.1. The ratio is very important.

2. The batter should be prepared properly, and the oil temperature is the key. If the oil temperature is too high, it will burn, and if it is too low, it will absorb too much oil and not have a honeycomb shape.
