Corn Fertilization Tips How to Fertilize Corn Planting

How to better fertilize corn? Today I will give you a detailed introduction:

1. Apply organic fertilizer extensively to corn.

Corn is a high-yield crop, and its yield level is closely related to the soil fertility level. Among the high-yield and efficient fertilization measures for corn, the first thing is to widely apply organic fertilizers to improve soil fertility. Generally, the input of organic fertilizer per mu should not be less than 4,000 kilograms.

2. Apply nitrogen fertilizer steadily to corn.

For spring corn, it is necessary to apply base fertilizer and adjust the amount of topdressing, and for summer corn, it is necessary to apply topdressing. In high-yield fields with a yield of more than 500 kg, the nitrogen application per mu should be stabilized at 9-12 kg; in medium-yield fields with a yield of 300-500 kg, the nitrogen application per mu should be stabilized at 7-10 kg; in low-yield fields with a yield of less than 300 kg, the nitrogen application per mu should be stabilized at 6-8 kg. At the same time, the application period and method should be reasonably adjusted to improve the utilization effect of nitrogen fertilizer.

3. Control the application of phosphorus fertilizer to corn.

At present, the role of phosphate fertilizer has been widely recognized, but the application of phosphate fertilizer should be reasonably determined and controlled according to the effective phosphorus content in the soil. In the fields with high, medium and low yields, the appropriate phosphorus application rate per mu should be controlled within the range of 7 kg, 6 kg and 5 kg respectively. Phosphorus fertilizer is generally applied as base fertilizer for spring corn, and can be applied with nitrogen fertilizer for summer corn. The application of phosphate fertilizer should emphasize deep application and early application.

4. Apply more potassium fertilizer to corn.

As the available potassium in the soil decreases year by year, the potassium-deficient area continues to expand. In order to meet the potassium demand of corn growth, potassium fertilizer must be increased comprehensively. The appropriate potassium fertilizer application rate is about 8 kg per mu in high-yield fields, about 7 kg in medium-yield fields, and about 6 kg in low-yield fields. The application ratio of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium should be 1:0.5:0.6.

5. Supplement micro-fertilizer with corn.

Due to the improvement of corn varieties, the reform of farming systems and the changes in fertilization structure, the symptoms of trace element deficiency in the soil are becoming more and more obvious, especially the symptoms of zinc deficiency in corn have appeared on a large scale. Zinc fertilizer for corn can be applied in corn seed soaking, coating and other aspects, or it can be applied when corn is sown or topdressed in the seedling stage. Generally, 1-2 kg of zinc sulfate can be applied. Zinc fertilizer can also be added to special fertilizers for corn or foliar spraying of corn in the seedling stage.
