Material:

Clearing away heat and detoxifying, urinary tract infection, treating sores, heat poison, acute conjunctivitis, cholecystitis, infectious hepatitis, acute tonsillitis, acute mastitis, mastitis, swelling and pain, swelling and nodules, upper respiratory tract infection

Honeysuckle is sweet and slightly bitter, cold in nature, and enters the lung, heart, and stomach meridians;

It is light and fragrant, clearing the inside and outside; it has the effects of clearing away heat and penetrating the surface, detoxifying and relieving sore throat, cooling blood and stopping dysentery;

It is mainly used to treat symptoms of febrile exterior syndrome, fever, thirst, carbuncle, furuncle, sore throat, heat toxicity and bloody diarrhea.

1. Used for exogenous wind-heat or early stage of febrile disease. It is often used together with forsythia, burdock, mint, etc.

2. Used for sores, carbuncle, swelling and sore throat. It can be taken orally with dandelion, plantain grass, forsythia, moutan bark, red peony root, etc., or fresh ones can be mashed and applied externally.

3. It is used for diarrhea and bloody stool caused by heat toxins (mucus and blood in the stool). Heat toxins gather in the intestines and enter the blood, causing diarrhea and bloody stools. In clinical practice, honeysuckle is often fried into charcoal, combined with scutellaria, coptis, white peony root, purslane, etc.

4. Honeysuckle is an important medicine for treating Yang-type sores and ulcers. When used with Forsythia suspensa, Burdock seeds, Mint, and Nepeta tenuifolia, it can relieve heat and relieve the symptoms; when used with Fresh Rehmannia glutinosa, Scrophularia ningpoensis, Forsythia suspensa, and Bamboo Leaf Heart, it can clear the nutrient fluid and release heat; when used with Viola yedoensis, Chrysanthemum indicum, and Taraxacum officinale, it can detoxify and treat sores; when used with Astragalus, Angelica sinensis, and Licorice, it can remove toxins and eliminate carbuncle; when used with Scutellaria baicalensis, White Peony Root, and Licorice, it can clear heat and treat dysentery.
