How to store lychees? Tips on how to keep lychees fresh

Lychee is a highly nutritious fruit with white flesh, large amount of juice, fresh taste and attractive flavor. However, the preservation of this fruit is a big problem. It has the characteristics of "one day color changes, two days fragrance changes, three days taste changes, four days color and fragrance are gone". If you want to keep lychee fresh, you must use the corresponding method. I will write down the most ideal preservation method for it in a while. Those of you who like to eat lychee can take a serious look at it.

1. Preserve with honey

If you want to keep lychees fresh, you can preserve them with lychee honey produced in the south. Before storing, remove the diseased and small fruits of fresh lychees, put them together with the juice into a clean ceramic jar, then put the prepared lychee honey in a pot, add appropriate amount of water, heat it to a boil, wait for it to cool down, take it out and put it into the ceramic jar so that the honey solution covers the lychees, then seal the ceramic jar. In this way, the lychees can be preserved for half a year to a year, and they will taste sweet and especially fresh when you take them out and eat them.

2. Store in a freezer

Lychees can usually be kept fresh with the help of a freezer, but before storage, fresh lychees should be soaked in boiling water for 5 to 10 seconds, then taken out and soaked in a 5% citric acid and 2% sodium luteolin solution. The soaking time should not exceed five minutes. After soaking, take out and drain the water, then wrap it in a plastic bag and put it directly into the freezer for frozen storage. This way, the lychees can be stored for 3 to 5 months without deterioration. When eating, take out and thaw it, and the taste will be as tempting as fresh lychees.

3. Store in plastic bags

Nowadays, lychees can be stored in ordinary plastic bags. Before storage, you need to remove the remaining stems of the lychees, then put them into plastic bags, tie the mouth of the plastic bags tightly, and then put them in a cool and ventilated place. This way, the lychees can be preserved without deteriorating for 7 to 10 days. If conditions permit, you can also soak the plastic bag containing lychees in water. In this way, the color, aroma and taste of the preserved lychees will not change, and people can still eat fresh lychees after more than ten days.
