Five kernel porridge

Five kernel porridge

How much do you know about Wuren Congee? Let me give you a detailed introduction.

Five kernel porridge

A filling for traditional Chinese cakes (such as moon cakes), it is made by frying peanuts, sesame seeds, walnuts, almonds, and melon seeds, peeling them, crushing them into small pieces, and finally adding sugar to make it. In ancient China, there were five moral principles: "benevolence, righteousness, courtesy, ambition, and trustworthiness", and "five benevolence" is a homophone for these five moral principles.

Introduction to Wuren Congee

my country's traditional "five kernels" include almonds, walnuts, peanuts, sesame seeds and melon seeds.

Sweet almond is a nourishing and mild cough suppressant, mainly used to treat dry throat and dry cough.

Walnut kernels have the functions of smoothing qi and replenishing blood, relieving cough and reducing phlegm, moistening lungs and nourishing kidneys, and preventing premature graying and shedding of hair. Walnut kernels are rich in high-quality protein, which is the most basic nutrient for maintaining life activities. The phospholipids contained in walnut kernels can increase cell activity and play an important role in maintaining brain nerve function, delicate skin, and promoting hair growth. The multiple unsaturated fatty acids (including linoleic acid) contained in walnut kernels can lower cholesterol and are very beneficial for preventing arteriosclerosis, hypertension, coronary heart disease, etc.

Peanuts have always been known as "longevity nuts". Peanut kernels are rich in fat, lecithin, vitamin A, vitamin B, vitamin E, calcium, phosphorus, iron and other elements. Regular consumption of peanut kernels can nourish and prolong life.

Sesame seeds can nourish the lungs and spleen, moisten the intestines and promote bowel movements, and benefit the skin.

Melon seeds are rich in minerals, vitamins and unsaturated fatty acids, which can promote cell regeneration and prevent arteriosclerosis and coronary heart disease.
