With the continuous improvement of planting technology, strawberries have become a fresh fruit that can be eaten all year round. They are sweet and sour, rich in nutrition, can beautify the skin, and can also replenish blood. They are the favorite of many fruit lovers. However, washing strawberries is something that many people don’t like to do, because they feel that they can’t wash them clean. In fact, there are certain methods and techniques for washing strawberries. I will write them down to teach you how to wash strawberries. 1. Rinse with running water After buying fresh strawberries, don't rush to soak them in water. Instead, put them under the water pipe and rinse them with running water. This will wash away all the germs, pesticides and other dirt on the surface of the strawberries. If you soak them in water, the pesticides on the surface will easily be washed into the water and absorbed by the strawberries again. This will enter the interior of the strawberries and make it impossible to wash them clean. 2. Processing strawberries After rinsing the strawberries with running water, take them out and remove the leaves at the bottom, but remember not to remove the strawberry stems. Because after processing, the strawberries will still be soaked in water. If the stems are removed, the pesticide residues on the surface will enter the inside of the strawberries through this part, causing new pollution. 3. Soak in salt water Put the processed strawberries in a basin, add a small spoonful of table salt, and then put in enough clean water, stir gently with your hands to dissolve the table salt. This will allow the salt water to be poured onto the surface of the strawberries, which can remove all the insects and insect eggs in the fresh strawberries, and can play a significant role in disinfection and sterilization. 4. Wash with rice water After soaking the strawberries in salt water, take them out and put them back into a clean basin. Add the water you usually use to wash rice and soak them for 10 to 15 minutes. Because the water is alkaline, it can decompose the residual pesticides on the surface of the strawberries. It also contains a certain amount of starch, which can adsorb the dirt on the surface of the strawberries. After washing with the water, the strawberries will become very clean and can be rinsed again with clean water before eating. |
