1. Seeding and planting

Cosmos is a green ornamental plant that can be planted by sowing seeds. In northern China, it is sown from April to June every year and will slowly bloom from June to August. After the hot weather in August and September, the number of flowers will be significantly reduced. If it is sown in July and August every year, it will bloom after October. At this time, the Cosmos plants are short and neat, and have a very high ornamental value.

2. Cutting planting

In addition to being planted in waves, cosmos can also be planted by cuttings. When planting, you can cut 8 to 10 cm thick branches from the top and insert them into the prepared seedbed. You can also insert them into the soil of a flowerpot, water them enough and then shade them. After half a month, the branches will take root and sprout.

Things to note when growing cosmos

1. When growing cosmos, you must pay attention to fertilization. This plant needs sufficient fertilizer during its growth process and should be top-dressed frequently. Apply sufficient base fertilizer to the soil before planting. After entering the growth period, apply fertilizer every 5 to 10 days. Be sure to use dilute liquid fertilizer.

2. Cosmos is a tall plant. After planting, you must pay attention to the lodging. If it grows very tall, you must set up a support to prevent it from being damaged by the wind. In addition, when cultivating Cosmos, you can also cultivate more low plants, which can improve its ornamental value and prevent it from lodging during growth.
