How to plant Clivia seeds? Clivia seeds planting method and skills

Usually, when people talk about Clivia, they are mostly potted plants purchased in the flower market. Few people will use seeds to grow Clivia. In fact, Clivia is a plant that not only blooms, but also bears fruit. Its fruit contains Clivia seeds, which can be directly planted after being collected. The following is an introduction to the techniques of Clivia seed planting, which you can focus on.

How to plant Clivia seeds? Clivia seeds planting method and skills

1. When planting Clivia seeds, they must be taken out of the fruit and planted as soon as possible. They cannot be stored outside for a long time. When collecting Clivia seeds, be sure to cut off the fruit together and then put it in a cool and ventilated place. Within ten days, the seeds inside must be peeled out and then planted. If stored for a long time, the germination rate of Clivia seeds will drop significantly.

2. Before planting Clivia seeds, you should choose those healthy mother plants, and choose those disease-free and strong Clivia seeds. In addition, Clivia seeds are healthier when they mature in autumn, and the germination rate is particularly high. After collecting Clivia seeds, you should also select those seeds with full and strong seeds for planting.

3. After selecting the Clivia seeds, they must be soaked and germinated before they can be sown. The water temperature should not be too high during soaking. The Clivia seeds should be soaked in warm water at about 30 degrees for 1 to 2 days, and then taken out and placed in a moist and warm environment for germination. During germination, you can cover the surface of the Clivia seeds with moist sawdust and spray water on the sawdust every day. The seeds will germinate in about seven days.

4. After the seeds of Clivia germinate, do not rush to transplant it. You should let it grow young roots and leaf sheaths before transplanting it into the prepared flowerpot. You should place the flowerpot in a cool, ventilated and warm environment for maintenance. After 7 to 10 days, when it slowly adapts to the growth environment, move it to an environment with sufficient scattered light for maintenance. As long as you water and fertilize it on time, it will grow slowly, and it will bloom in the same year if planted.
