How to cultivate pennywort? How to cultivate pennywort

The pennywort is a green foliage plant with a strong aroma. When people touch it with their hands, they can smell the tempting apple fragrance. This plant is suitable for indoor cultivation. It can purify indoor air and beautify the environment. But how should pennywort be cultivated? I will write down its cultivation method and share it with you later.

How to cultivate pennywort

1. Soil

When growing the petals of the genus Pogostemon, you must choose the right soil for it. This plant likes loose, fertile, and well-breathable sandy soil. Before planting the petals of the genus Pogostemon, you need to prepare suitable potting soil and apply enough base fertilizer. After planting the petals of the genus Pogostemon, you need to water it sufficiently.

2. Water appropriately

When growing catnip, you should water it appropriately. Don't water it too much. It has poor moisture tolerance. If you water it too much, the roots will easily rot. Especially in the autumn and winter and rainy weather, you should reduce or stop watering to keep the soil semi-dry. This is most conducive to the growth of catnip.

3. Adequate lighting

The pennywort is a plant that likes plenty of sunlight. It should be placed in a sunny place when it is cultivated. Only in this way can its leaves be thick and bright green, and the ornamental value of the pennywort can be significantly improved. However, it should not be placed in strong light in the hot summer weather, otherwise its leaves will be burned and the fragrance will fade.

4. Temperature

Temperature is an important condition for the cultivation of catnip. This plant is not cold-resistant and prefers a warm and humid environment. After entering autumn, when the weather turns cooler, it should be moved indoors. After entering winter, anti-freeze measures must be taken to ensure that it is cultivated in an environment above ten degrees. If the cultivation temperature drops below five degrees, it will die due to the low temperature. In addition, catnip will stop growing when the temperature exceeds thirty-five degrees in summer. At this time, it is necessary to ventilate in time and spray water on the leaves to cool down.
