Cultivation methods and techniques of Cleome

The butterfly plant is a beautiful ornamental plant. Its flowering period is mostly from June to September every year. The flowers are brightly colored and there are a lot of them. It looks very beautiful. Many people like to grow it at home, but they don’t know much about its cultivation methods. Today, the editor will give you a detailed introduction.

1. Soil

Cleome is a plant with particularly strong vitality. It does not have high requirements for soil when it is cultivated, but it cannot be cultivated in sandy soil or clay soil. It is best to choose loose, fertile, slightly acidic soil. When cultivated at home, you can use leaf mold or garden soil as potting soil.

2. Temperature and sunlight

Temperature and sunlight are the two major conditions for growing Psychedelic orchids. This plant likes a warm and sunny environment. It is relatively resistant to high temperatures. Every summer is its peak growing season. It has poor cold resistance. After entering the autumn and winter seasons, if it encounters frost, it will die directly.

3. Watering method

There are certain methods to water the butterfly flower when it is cultivated. This plant is relatively drought-resistant, but after entering summer, you must insist on watering it every day, and water it thoroughly. In addition, in summer, you must spray water around its leaves in time to increase the air humidity, which will make its leaves greener and make the whole plant more energetic.

4. Apply fertilizer in time

The demand for fertilizer of the cleome is relatively large, and it should be fed with fertilizer regularly. However, the principle of applying light fertilizer frequently, in small amounts, and with complete nutrition should be followed. In addition, water should be applied in time after fertilizing to speed up the absorption of nutrients by the roots. Compound liquid fertilizer should be applied twice within twenty days before it enters the flowering period. This will promote the full bloom of the flowers of the cleome.

5. Pick the top of the tree in time

When cultivating butterfly flowers, you should pinch the tops of the flowers at the right time, especially before they bloom. You should pinch the tops twice, which can promote the growth of more branches, make them bloom, and increase the number of flowers. When the plant grows to about ten centimeters in height and has more than six leaves, you can pinch the tops, leaving 3 to 4 leaves. You can do the second pinching 3 to 5 weeks after the first pinching, when the height grows to 6 to 8 centimeters.
