How to grow cyclamen? Cultivation methods and precautions for cyclamen

Cyclamen has bright colors and pleasant fragrance. It is particularly beautiful when placed indoors in potted plants. But how should this beautiful cyclamen be cultivated? The cultivation method of cyclamen is not complicated, but there are some points that need special attention in the cultivation process. The editor will introduce this knowledge to you in a while.

How to grow cyclamen

1. Soil and flower pots

When cultivating cyclamen, you must choose the right culture soil. It is best to mix 3 parts of humus soil, 2 parts of leaf mold, 2 parts of furnace ash and 2 parts of river sand, and add an appropriate amount of superphosphate in the middle. After this picture is prepared, it must be processed and strictly disinfected. The size of the flowerpot must match the size of the cyclamen bulb. Do not plant small seedlings in a large pot.

2. Breeding environment

Cyclamen has certain requirements for the growth environment when it is cultivated. It likes to grow in a warm environment of about 20 degrees. If the ambient temperature is too low, it will affect the normal flowering of cyclamen. In addition, sufficient light must be ensured for the cultivation of cyclamen. Normally, it receives at least five hours of light a day, but it must be shaded in summer, otherwise it will affect the flowering period and make its leaves turn yellow.

Breeding precautions

1. Apply fertilizer in time

When growing cyclamen, you must pay attention to timely fertilization, because it is a fertilizer-loving plant, but it does not like concentrated fertilizer. In addition to applying enough base fertilizer in the potting soil, you should also apply top dressing every half a month. You can choose organic liquid fertilizer. Fertilizer should be diluted with water after application, and water it in time after application.

2. Pay attention to pests and diseases

When growing cyclamen, you must also pay attention to diseases and pests. Aphids and leaf rollers are both common pests of cyclamen. They can usually be prevented by adjusting temperature and humidity, but after the occurrence of diseases and pests, you need to spray pesticides in time, otherwise the pests will be difficult to eradicate and will directly affect the growth of cyclamen.
