Cultivation methods and precautions of lotus

The dry lotus, also known as the nasturtium, is a perennial climbing herb. It is named because its leaves are similar to lotus leaves. This plant has a long flowering period, bright colors, strong fragrance, and high ornamental value. It can be cultivated in gardens or indoors, but before cultivation, you must have a comprehensive understanding of its cultivation methods and precautions during the cultivation process, otherwise it will be difficult to grow the dry lotus well.

How to cultivate lotus

1. Growth habits

When cultivating lotus, you must have a comprehensive understanding of its growth habits. This plant is native to the tropical regions of America. It has poor cold resistance and usually likes a warm, humid and sunny environment. In addition, it can only be planted in fertile, well-drained, slightly acidic soil.

2. Breeding method

The lotus can be propagated by sowing or cuttings, among which cuttings are the most common. Cuttings can be done in spring every year. Before cuttings, you should select strong branches from the lotus, make cuttings, and insert them directly into the moist sand bed. New roots will grow in about 30 days, and then they can be transplanted into pots or fields.

3. Daily maintenance

The lotus is a climbing plant. When you grow it, you must build a suitable flower stand for it, give it sufficient water during the cultivation period, and often spray water on the leaves to increase the air humidity, especially about 20 days before it enters the flowering period. It is necessary to apply fertilizer in time, and it is best to water it with an appropriate amount of thin fertilizer water.

Breeding precautions

When you grow lotus, you must pay attention to changing the pot in time. You should change the pot every 1 to 2 years, otherwise the nutrients in the pot soil can not meet its normal growth needs. If you don't change the pot for a long time, the lotus will grow slowly, and the leaves will turn yellow and fall off. In addition, lotus has a strong tendency to phototropism. When you grow it, you should often turn the pot. Only in this way can the plant remain symmetrical and grow normally.
