Pineapple flowers are very unique and beautiful. Pineapple is also called pineapple, also known as ornamental pineapple or pineapple flower. Many people don't know how to grow pineapple flowers. This article introduces the cultivation methods and precautions of pineapple flowers.

How to grow pineapple flowers

Soil requirements

The best soil for bromeliads is a mixture of loose peat soil, humus soil, and tree fern debris. It is recommended to use leaf humus with a small amount of garden soil, or a mixture of half peat soil and half perlite.

Suitable temperature

The most suitable growth temperature for pineapple flowers is 20℃ to 30℃. The highest temperature should not exceed 35 degrees, and the lowest temperature should not be lower than 10 degrees. Too high or too low temperature is not good for pineapple flowers.

The right amount of light

Pineapple flowers prefer shade and cannot be exposed to direct sunlight, but they also need appropriate light for photosynthesis, so pineapple flowers are suitable for cultivation in semi-shaded places or bright windows or indoors.

The need for adequate water

Make sure the soil surface in the pineapple pot is slightly dry. There is a water tank at the base of the pineapple leaves, under the leaf tube. Make sure there is always water in the tank without interruption.

Appropriate amount of fertilization

Bromeliad flowers absorb nutrients through their leaf cups. Apply nitrogen fertilizer once a week and apply phosphorus and potassium fertilizers appropriately before flowering to promote large and colorful flowers. Apply fertilizer in appropriate amounts.

Precautions for the cultivation of pineapple flowers

The growing season of pineapple flowers is from late spring to autumn. It is necessary to increase the amount of watering appropriately and change the water every half a month. It is better to keep the pot dry in winter, but not too dry. In May-September, apply nitrogen fertilizer once a week, and apply phosphorus and potassium fertilizer appropriately before flowering to promote large and colorful flowers. When flowering, do not fill the tube with water. Store it in a place away from sunlight to extend the flowering period. After flowering, it enters the dormant period, and the pedicels must be cut off to reduce nutrient consumption. Do not fill the tube with water in winter.
