Camellia cultivation methods and precautions

Camellia cultivation methods and precautions

Camellia, also known as camellia, belongs to the family Theaceae of the order Ericales. Many people choose to grow camellia as a home potted plant. So how to grow camellia? Today I will mainly introduce the cultivation methods and precautions of camellia.

Camellia cultivation method

1. Soil requirements

When choosing soil for growing camellia, you should choose soil with high humus content and slightly acidic. The pH value of the soil is preferably between 5-6.5.

2. Growth temperature

The best growth temperature for camellia is 18 to 25 degrees. Too high or too low temperature is not good for the growth of camellia. In winter, camellia should be moved indoors. At noon, camellia can be moved to the balcony. In summer, pay attention to sun protection.

3. Water appropriately

Although camellia likes a humid environment, you should also pay attention to the soil not being too dry or too wet when watering it. You can water it more in spring and summer, but pay attention to watering less in winter, watering once every two to three days is enough;

4. Appropriate fertilization

During the growth of camellia, remember to fertilize it appropriately. You can add phosphorus and potassium fertilizers, which will make the flowers bloom more luxuriantly, but the fertilization should be appropriate, not too much;

5. Regular flower pruning

Pruning is very important. When the camellia buds are dense, pruning should be carried out to cut off weak branches and arrange the buds. This can promote the absorption of nutrients by the camellia.

Notes on Camellia

Prevent pests and diseases

Tea tree flowers are very susceptible to diseases and pests, generally black mold and anthracnose. Note that during the pest period, you can spray some pest-killing drugs on the camellia.
