Clivia cultivation method Clivia cultivation precautions

Clivia is an ornamental plant that can be used for both flower and leaf viewing. It has the recipe of a gentleman, and the plant is tall and elegant, with a particularly high ornamental value, and is particularly suitable for cultivation at home. However, Clivia is also a relatively delicate plant. When cultivating it, you must master the correct method, and there are many places that require special attention.

Clivia cultivation method

1. Prepare the soil

When cultivating Clivia, you must prepare suitable soil for it. This plant originates from the forests of southern Africa and likes fertile humus soil. When growing it in pots at home, you should choose fertile neutral or slightly acidic soil that is rich in humus, and also give it an appropriate amount of fine ash and clean sand.

2. Moisture conditions

Water is an important condition for growing Clivia. You should neither over-water it nor let it suffer from drought. You should water it thoroughly each time. And after the flower buds appear, you should water it more appropriately. Every 20 days, you can add some fermented bean cake water or light fish water, which will be of great benefit to the growth of Clivia.

3. Temperature regulation

When growing Clivia, you must pay attention to temperature regulation. This plant is sensitive to the external temperature. It likes to grow in a warm environment of about 20 degrees. When the ambient temperature drops to ten degrees, it will stop growing. When the temperature exceeds 30 degrees, it will also stop growing. Moreover, the temperature difference between day and night in the breeding environment should not exceed ten degrees, otherwise it will affect its flowering period.

Precautions for cultivating Clivia

1. When cultivating Clivia, you must pay attention. It is a plant that likes semi-shaded and cool environment. It must not be cultivated under strong light, and its ability to resist high temperatures is relatively poor. When cultivating it in summer, you must pay attention to shading and cooling, otherwise the leaves of Clivia will become narrow and long, which will affect its ornamental value.

2. When growing Clivia, you should also pay attention to the fact that it likes a humid environment. You should provide it with sufficient water at ordinary times, and spray water on the leaves in time after entering the hot weather. At the same time, you should also pay attention to the fact that Clivia is a fertilizer-loving plant. You can replace the potting soil every two to three years, and apply enough base fertilizer in the potting soil.
