Cultivation method of potted honeysuckle

Honeysuckle is an evergreen vine plant that blooms beautiful flowers in April and May every year. The flowering period is particularly long and can last until the end of autumn. It is a beautiful ornamental plant that can be made into potted plants and cultivated at home. However, many people only know that honeysuckle is a traditional Chinese medicine, and do not know that it can be cultivated as a flower, let alone how to cultivate potted honeysuckle. Today I will write down the cultivation method of potted honeysuckle, and friends who want to cultivate honeysuckle can learn from it.

Cultivation method of potted honeysuckle

1. Preparation of potting soil for potted honeysuckle

When you want to grow honeysuckle in a potted plant, the preparation of the potting soil is very important. You can add 60% peat, 20% vermiculite, and 10% perlite, mix them together, and then plant honeysuckle.

2. Water and fertilizer management of potted honeysuckle

The water and fertilizer management of potted honeysuckle is also very important. Before it blooms, it should be fertilized once. When fertilizing, you can choose fertilizers mainly based on phosphorus and potassium. In late May every year, after the honeysuckle flowers wither, you can apply thin fertilizer once and pinch its new branches. During the cultivation period of potted honeysuckle, the pot soil should be kept moist, but it should not be overwatered. If water accumulates in the pot, the leaves of the honeysuckle will turn yellow or fall off.

3. Plastic surgery and diseases of honeysuckle

When cultivating potted honeysuckle, after it enters the dormant period, it must be shaped and its weak branches and twigs must be removed, so as to ensure more flowering in the second year. Honeysuckle is a plant with few diseases, but sometimes aphids will appear. At this time, just spray the aphid medicine in time to eliminate the disease.
