How to grow rubber trees

The rubber tree is a foliage plant with particularly large leaves. The rubber tree is also called Indian banyan and Indian rubber. Now let us learn about the cultivation methods of the rubber tree.

How to grow rubber trees

1. The rubber tree is a plant that likes warmth and humidity. It also likes to grow in an environment with insufficient sunlight. It is also a relatively shade-tolerant plant, but the rubber tree is not cold-resistant.

2. Rubber trees like fertile and loose soil, and can grow well in some neutral or slightly acidic soil. Rubber trees can be used for potted plants. Usually, the soil should be kept moist, and thin fertilizer should be applied every two to three weeks. Waterlogging should be prevented in the summer.

3. Rubber trees are not cold-resistant. They need shade when it is too hot in summer. The minimum temperature cannot be lower than five degrees. If the temperature is too low, the rubber tree will turn black, the roots will rot, and the whole plant will die. Therefore, it is generally necessary to grow it indoors in winter.

4. Rubber trees can be propagated by cuttings, which is usually done in March and April each year. You can apply some rooting powder on the roots. Generally, the survival rate is very high in an environment of 25-30 degrees. Generally, it will take root after four weeks of cutting. When the seedlings grow three or four leaves, they can be moved to pots for planting.
